Import services

Importing into Mexico means classifying goods correctly, meeting non-tariff regulations, securing permits, and clearing customs without the shipment stalling. A wrong tariff code or an overlooked NOM can hold a container at the border and trigger costs no one budgeted for. BG Consulting Group manages the operation from origin to final delivery, coordinating customs clearance, regulatory compliance, and logistics across the Tijuana-San Diego corridor.

What is your situation today?

Situations we handle

01

Goods held up at customs

A shipment gets detained over a wrong tariff classification, incomplete paperwork, or an unmet regulation. Every day held adds storage costs and breaks the delivery commitments made to the end customer.

02

Not knowing which NOM applies

A company finds out late that its product needs a labeling or safety certification. Without the NOM in place, customs will not release the goods, no matter how clean the rest of the filing is.

03

The product needs a prior permit

Certain goods require permits or notices from agencies before they can be imported. Anyone who misses the requirement faces a stalled shipment and, in some cases, penalties.

04

Coordinating broker, transport, and warehouse separately

The company manages the customs broker, the carrier, and the warehouse on its own, and each party answers only for its own leg. When something breaks at the border, no one has the full operation in view.

Scope of the service

01

Customs clearance with a licensed broker

We handle clearance through a licensed broker: tariff classification, pedimento filing, and applicable duties.

02

NOM compliance

We identify which NOMs apply to your product and handle the accreditation customs requires before releasing the goods.

03

Permit and non-tariff regulation management

We process prior permits and authorizations so goods do not reach the border without the required documentation.

04

Warehousing

Warehouse space to consolidate shipments, stagger deliveries, or hold cargo while a filing is completed.

05

Transportation and door-to-door delivery

We coordinate cargo transportation and door-to-door delivery, with clearance and the physical move under one coordination.

Benefits

Clearance without avoidable holds: goods cross with classification, the pedimento, and regulatory requirements resolved in advance, with no surprises at customs.
Verified regulatory compliance: NOMs, permits, and non-tariff regulations identified and accredited before the crossing, not discovered once the cargo is already held.
One point of coordination: clearance, warehousing, and transport managed through a single contact, with visibility across the chain in the Tijuana-San Diego corridor.
Delivery to final destination: cargo reaches its delivery point in Mexico with the physical move and customs filing coordinated together.

Frequently asked questions

At minimum, registration in the Importers Registry, the correct tariff classification for the goods, and compliance with the regulations tied to that code: duties such as the general import duty and VAT, the applicable NOMs, and prior permits where required. We review your product to determine which requirements it triggers before the shipment moves.

Import process

From origin to delivery at destination.

Every import moves through the same stages. BG coordinates clearance, regulatory compliance, and logistics across the Tijuana-San Diego corridor so goods cross without avoidable holds.

01

Tariff classification

The tariff code is determined under the General Rules of Interpretation. The code drives the applicable duty, the general import duty, and VAT, and triggers the product's regulatory requirements: NOMs, permits, and non-tariff regulations. A wrong classification is the source of most customs holds.
